Kanchan Couture is the creative vision of Fashion designer Kanchan Panjabi. "Kanch" as she liked to be known returned to Hong Kong from London to launch her own label, Kanchan Couture, designing luxury women's wear. Kanch's passion is to transform classic shapes from a bygone era in combination with opulent Indian textiles creating a wearable modernity for everywoman.

With the opening of L'atelier de Kanch her workshop, studio and creative hub, she has developed a reputation for designing luxurious, elegant women's wear and accessories. Inspiration is derived from India, Kanchan's country of origin, "It all began with an image of my mother seated on a bike in 1960's India. I fell in love with the image as it portrays who I really am; my Indian roots yet a child of a hybrid world."

There are Indian influences throughout the collection, the use of opulent Indian textiles, which are all sourced from Bangalore and Delhi. The prints which she designs have an Indian essence to them and the vibrant colors used are a reminder of an Indian heritage and its inherent beauty.

Kanch studied in New York where she graduated in Economics and French. After which she moved on to London to work with fashion designer, Amanda Wakeley and embarked upon a MA in fashion design and enterprise. She was lucky enough to have had great mentors such as Zowie Broach from Boudicca and Shelly Fox.

Kanchan's collections include eveningwear, daywear, tailoring, bridal gowns, leather belts and accessories. She hopes to branch into shoes soon.
