• What do you love in fashion ?
It's constant evolution.
• From where is coming your addiction to vintage clothes ?
My mother used to take me to antique shops and thrift stores.
They were the most magical places on earth.
She would let me pick out dresses to play with. My mother was
also a older mom she had me in her 40's .
I have all these wonderful photographs of her in 50's clothes.
I loved watching her dress up before a night out.
• What inspire you for your looks ?
It can be anything from art, nature, buildings, textures,
films, music, feelings, a mood.
I like to look at collections to get a sense of whats
current. I keep this in mind when I'm out thrift shopping.
That is the magical part, you never know what your going to find.
• You love vintage in general? What your flat look like? Is it
decorated with vintage furniture ?
Absolutely! I collect various types of vintage objects. I
have a weakness for wooden furniture.
I was lucky enough to find a vintage wooden drafting table.
I adore it! I collect dishes, jewelry boxes, anything that striking
and beautiful.
Lots of antiques and rich royal textures adorn my room. I
love creating my own world in my living space.
• You are always wearing black clothes...Why ?
I've always had a strong attraction to the mystery and drama
of black clothes.
They suit my personality. It's been a part of me for almost 20 years.
• What period in vintage you prefer ?
Lately I gravitate toward the silhouettes of the 80's. But I
like all periods as long as the design is strong.
I've always had a weakness for the 30's.
• How can you define your style ?
Dark, dramatic, strange with a hint of glamor.
• What country is the best dressed ? Why ?
Why, France of course! I really admire all stylish chic
Parisians. I love the elegant and effortless sartorial choices they
make.
• What are your good addresses ?
I love the boutiques in LA they are so fun! There are so many
fantastic areas like silver lake, Los feliz, Korea town, downtown LA.
The beauty of the northern California coast especially the
redwood forest.
I love japan town in San Francisco for there bookstores, food
and shops.
Carmel/Big Sur has the most beautiful sea/ landscapes. Hearst
castle is amazing!
• A fashion advice for the modepass members ?
Follow your instinct with fashion, it will set you apart from
the trends. I like to photograph or sketch my outfits to make sure
they work.
Take risks even if you feel a little silly. Not everyone is
into fashion but chances are someone will appreciate the beauty your
bestowing unto the world.
• What is your favourite clothes ? Why ?
Vintage offers so much possibilities. I like the challenge it
presents. You have to take this older design and reinvent it.
The more obscure and stranger the better.
• Dreams for future ?
To work in the fashion industry. I would love to style and
illustrate. To have a successful illustrating career as well.
• What else ?
Live happily ever after with my boyfriend, cat and best friend
in the same city.
