Twiggy (Lesley Hornby) was born in north London on September 19th, 1949. She was named "The Face of '66" by the Daily Express.

In the mid 60's at 16 years of age, Twiggy became internationally known as the world's first supermodel.

With her waif like figure, boyish hair cut and striking eye lashes she created an famous image. Twiggy became the idol for millions of teenage girls of the sixties revolution.

During her years as a model, Twiggy posed for some of the top photographers, including Barry Lategan, Melvin Sokolsky, Richard Avendon, Bert Stern and several covers of Vogue.

Twiggy officially retired from modelling in 1970.
